2018 Municipal Election Information Update

Municipal elections will be held on November 5, 2018 to elect the mayor and 6 councillors for the Rural Municipality of North Wiltshire. The term of office is four years and will begin on December 7th, 2018

The nomination period for the council positions noted above commences on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 and closes at 2:00 pm on Nomination Day on Friday, October 19th, 2018

Nominations will only be received during office hours at the election office, located at the Hunter River Municipal Office at 19816 Route 2, in Hunter River.

The election office hours shall be:

Tuesdays- 10:00 am to 1 pm and 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Saturdays- 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Friday, October 19th, 2018- 9:00 am – 2:00 pm (nominations close)

You can run for office if:

  • Are a Canadian citizen

  • Are at least 18 years of age or older

  • Have been ordinarily a resident in the municipality for a period of at least six months before the election

A candidate must file their completed nomination paper at the election office with the Municipal Electoral Officer.
